I'm organizing a "non-library" job information session for the MLIS Student Council this term. All the details have been finalized, so now I can promote it through all the official channels. Here is the text of the email sent out to all students:
Psst...the MLIS degree qualifies you for more than just library jobs. Actually, there's a whole world of opportunities for MLIS students...Pass it on.
To showcase these diverse opportunities, you are invited to attend the MLIS Student Council "Non-Traditional Jobs in LIS" Information Session. At the event, former and current Western MLIS students who work in non-traditional LIS fields will discuss their jobs and how their work relates to their MLIS degree.
